ATF Reform, Inventory Flow & Upcoming Webinars | coreWEEKLY
Regulatory change is moving from the background into the day-to-day reality of firearms retail operations. This week’s coreWEEKLY breaks down what the ATF’s reform package actually impacts inside your shop, walks through a corePOW demo on faster receiving workflows with built-in supplier and FFL handling, clarifies how suspended sales operate in coreSTORE reporting and processing, and includes the BFG webinar replay along with what’s coming next.

What the ATF’s Reform Package Really Means for Firearms Retailers
The ATF has now put 34 proposed and final rules on the table under what it calls a new era of reform, and firearms retailers should not treat that as just another headline out of Washington. This package reaches the sales counter, the bound book, the inspection room, imported parts, NFA work, and the legal definitions that shape day to day retail decisions. The ATF says this is the most significant modernization of its regulations in the agency’s history, and it says the purpose is to reduce unnecessary burdens on lawful businesses and citizens while bringing the rules back into line with current law, agency practice, and court precedent. That is the headline. The practical question for a dealer is simpler: where does this actually change how a shop runs?
💡 Coreware Feature Update
In this episode of corePOW, Ezra and Joel give firearms retailers a look at how receiving products inside Coreware is designed to be fast, simple, and practical. This walkthrough shows how dealers can receive inventory, add supplier information on the fly, pull FFL details directly into the workflow, and complete required firearm receiving steps without bouncing between multiple screens.
The video highlights how easy it is to start a receiving transaction by searching for a product, adjusting quantities, and moving straight into the receiving screen. For firearms, the system requires supplier information, but Coreware makes that process easier by letting users add a new supplier right from the receiving workflow instead of stopping everything to build the contact elsewhere.
🛠️ From the Help Desk
coreSTORE - Sales - Suspended Sales Option Definitions
Suspended sale types control how suspended transactions behave in coreSTORE. These settings determine how suspended sales are treated in reports, whether deposits or customers are required, and how the system handles actions such as receipt generation, payment processing, and 4473 creation. The following definitions explain what each available setting does.
Treat as a sale
- When selected, the system treats the suspended sale as a completed sale in reports and other areas of the software instead of as an estimate.
Change sale date when suspending
- When selected, the system updates the sale date each time the suspended sale is suspended again.
