The Future of Retail Software Is Guidance

For the last few years, almost every conversation about artificial intelligence has been pulled toward the same uncomfortable question: Is AI coming for people’s jobs?

That question gets clicks. It creates fear and gives people something dramatic to argue about online. It also causes a lot of retailers to miss the bigger opportunity sitting right in front of them.

When AI is discussed only through the lens of automation, it starts to feel like the goal is to remove people from the business. That may make sense in certain industries or for certain repetitive tasks, but retail is different. Retail still depends heavily on people, relationships, trust, service, judgment, and the kind of human interaction that cannot be replaced by a screen without changing the entire customer experience.

💡 Coreware Feature Update

corePOW: CoreY AI Just Reinvented User Guides and Manuals

In this episode of corePOW, Ezra and Joel show how CoreY AI can now build full user guides and manuals directly inside Coreware. Instead of spending hours writing documentation, taking screenshots, and organizing steps manually, the system can generate a complete guide from a simple prompt.

The walkthrough starts with Ezra creating a loyalty points guide inside Coreware’s Resource Center. CoreY builds the introduction, creates the step-by-step instructions, and even organizes the guide into a beginner-friendly format automatically. From there, the platform captures screenshots on its own and attaches them to each step without needing outside tools or manual editing.

The video also shows how guides are no longer just static documents. Users can switch between screenshots and short walkthrough videos while following instructions, making the learning experience much easier for store staff and new users. If someone gets stuck or has a question while reading the guide, they can ask CoreY directly inside the manual and get answers without leaving the page.

Throughout the episode, Ezra explains how much work went into building the tool and why Coreware is focused on creating practical AI features that actually save businesses time. The session gives retailers a real behind-the-scenes look at how Coreware is using AI to simplify training, onboarding, and day-to-day operations inside the platform.

🛠️ From the Help Desk

coreSTORE - Sales - Suspended Sales Option Definitions

Suspended sale types control how suspended transactions behave in coreSTORE. These settings determine how suspended sales are treated in reports, whether deposits or customers are required, and how the system handles actions such as receipt generation, payment processing, and 4473 creation. The following definitions explain what each available setting does.

Treat as a sale

  • When selected, the system treats the suspended sale as a completed sale in reports and other areas of the software instead of as an estimate.

Change sale date when suspending

  • When selected, the system updates the sale date each time the suspended sale is suspended again.
